Light Weight Mirror substrates

This is a light weight 42 inch Diameter cast Borosilicate mirror with 6.375" edge thickness (ET). Substrate is ground and polished, ready for coating, for a private telescope application.

Surface deformation image using Interference Testing on a substrate with a Face Sheet thickness of approximately .03". Material is a hyper-lightweight, custom reflowed, Low Expansion Material. Material is fused from multiple components prior to face sheet machining, grinding and polishing. Light-weighting is greater than 90%.

Coated Lightweight mirror using a lightweight core material bonded with a thin glass face sheet. The face sheet is ground and polished to produce a highly accurate and repeatable surface. Used in a technical application, DOTI is the only company currently able to manufacture these massive mirrors and maintain the quality, flatness, price and delivery required by the industry in which it is used.
