DOTI’s Lone Star Shatter Shield (LS3) is a high-performance first-surface laminated mirror engineered for enhanced structural strength, safety, and durability. Utilizing a proprietary DOTI-developed process, we laminate glass, acrylic, metals, and other dissimilar materials to create shatter-resistant optical components that maintain exceptional optical performance. This advanced optical lamination technology has been successfully applied to a wide range of applications, including collimating mirrors, producing mirrors that are highly resistant to breakage and extremely difficult to rupture.
Originally developed to meet specialized customer requirements, DOTI’s lamination process enables the precise bonding of dissimilar materials while maintaining strict control over optical transmission, internal quality, and structural rigidity. The result is a line of laminated mirrors and optical components that meet demanding performance standards across multiple industries.
A key advantage of LS3 is its enhanced safety and reliability. The laminated construction creates break- and shatter-resistant mirrors that help reduce risk in critical environments. Laminated Beam Splitters
DOTI manufactures laminated beam splitter optics specifically designed for public-facing and high-contact environments where safety and durability are critical. To help mitigate risk, our advanced process encapsulates beam-splitting coatings within a protective laminated “sandwich” structure.
